Meyer’s Fine Arts arranges and coordinates transportation, whether the shipment is transported by a climatic controlled van, or by airplane, or by ocean vessel.
For international shipments, either exported or imported, Meyer’s Fine Arts will arrange and prepare the documentation necessary for customs formalities.
From the very beginning of your project you are assigned a personal Meyer’s trained art coordinator.

Art Packing & Crating
There is much more to a Meyer’s Fine Arts crate than meets the eye. The size of a piece, its condition, the number of works and transportation modes will determine the design and the selection of the packing crate. Each packing crate is custom hand-crafted to accommodate the artwork and assure safe and secure transportation.
Meyer’s Fine Arts cases are custom designed, engineered and constructed. Inherent artwork characteristics, exhibition complexity, travel duration, modes of travel and number of destinations are decisive factors in the type of packing crate selected.
For example, the interior of our unique packing crates are efficiently planned and solidly constructed to create a secure and controlled environment for your artworks in transit. The interior of the packing crate is constructed with polyethylene, glassine, ethafoam, foam rubber, jeweler’s cloth, felt and carpeting all adding a dimension of safety to the transportation process.
Your artworks arrive in perfect condition because Meyer’s craft persons take the time to analyze and implement a packing process that assures your works of art are treated with respect.
Art Storage Facilities
Our storage facilities have been carefully planned for security efficiency convenience and much more. Meyer’s Fine Arts warehouse is constructed for the special needs of our clients and the storage of their artworks and antiques. Each warehouse is fireproof, electronically secured and conveniently located. Admittance is controlled by authorized access only.
Our warehouses have private rooms and open space storage for unusually large paintings, sculptures or empty cases.
Art Transporting
When considering all the numerous aspects of transportation, you will get expert professional advice from Meyer’s Fine Arts. Your personal art coordinator reviews your options with you and helps you select the best possible means of transport. During the process, all parties concerned receive thorough, advanced communication about schedules and coordinated details of every element of the transportation. All enroute security precautions are taken to ensure safe and secure passage.
Van Transport
Providing vans equipped with air-ride suspension, specifically designed to accommodate works of art, is a key feature of Meyer’s Fine Arts. Each one is driven by one of our specially trained, experienced art handlers. We can arrange for van service within the metropolitan city for local pickup and delivery, for transcontinental van service, and even overseas van transportation. High quality van service, climatically controlled or not, can be provided on either an exclusive-use or space-reservation basis.
Air Transport
Whether your shipment is a single work or an exhibition, whether your consignment is to be shipped domestically or internationally, confirmed space is reserved with the airlines to ensure your art work travels on an assigned flight. Special arrangements can be made for shipments accompanied by a courier. Incoming flights, whether day or night, can be met by Meyer’s Fine Arts driver to ensure immediate delivery to the destination.
Customs Formalities
Meyer’s Fine Arts can familiarize you with worldwide customs regulations for exporting or importing works of art and antiques. We can assist you in the preparation of required customs documentation and arrange for the necessary custom formalities worldwide. Our warehouses are available for customs examination and clearance under a secured environment. Handling of artwork is performed by specially trained art handlers.
